Offering the perfect first step into baking, this class will guide you through the fundamentals of making a range of sponges and sweet goods, including different decorating techniques and theory of cake making. Over 3 hours, you will be baking a dense brown sugar spiced carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, individual lemon drizzle loaves with glace icing and fluffy blueberry muesli muffins. In addition to practical advice, this class covers making your own icings and decorating skills too, so each person will leave with the confidence to try at home armed with recipes from the day.
Our classes are very informal but well structured, taught in small groups for maximum experience. There will be lots of hands on baking, overseen and demonstrated by the teacher. At the end of the class you will take home everything made entirely by yourself, in addition to recipes from the day.
